The news that Forrester Research will release Forrester magazine in February speaks volumes about both the magazine and the IT research sectors of the information industry. In our "HotTopics: IT Research Ripe for Change" released last week, Outsell analyst Louise Garnett noted that content distinctions are becoming less clear. The lines are blurring between paid research and IT-oriented editorial content in IT magazines. Now along comes Forrester with a magazine explicitly designed to reinforce the Forrester brand while delivering its insights in a different and more accessible format. TechTarget, with the launch of its magazine CIO Decisions, is another example of the IT research space going "back to the future" by creating a new print property.
